Use the scenario as a shared object, not as evidence against a person.
A calmer conversation
- Begin with the question you are trying to answer.
- Separate known figures from estimates.
- Say “the scenario shows” rather than “you spend”.
- Name what each person hopes to protect.
- Change one assumption together and notice the effect.
A total can be correct and still land badly. Pause if the conversation becomes about character, control or old injuries.
