HomeUsing The Possibility CalculatorScenarios

How should I compare two scenarios?

Compare scenarios around the decision you are actually making, not every number on the page.

Look at four things

  1. How much money remains each month?
  2. Which assumptions changed?
  3. What happens to debt, savings and net position over time?
  4. What non-financial benefit or cost is missing from the calculator?

A scenario with less remaining money may still support a better life. A scenario with a larger projection may require assumptions you do not believe.

What to try next: Write one sentence below each scenario: “This works if...” That often reveals the real trade-off.
